A slow smartphone can be one of the most frustrating things in the world, especially when you’re used to your phone working flawlessly.
While it can be tempting to get angry and to immediately purchase another phone, there are plenty of tricks and tips you can use to speed up your Android phone right now.
To give you a few ideas on how to speed up your Android phone, here are seven quick tips that will help you get back up and running in no time!
1) Turn Off Location Services
Ever wonder why your phone is so slow? One of the reasons may be that you're using too many apps.
The other may be that your location services are on and running in the background. To speed up your phone, try turning off location services on your device.
2) Disable Notifications
- Go to Settings > Notification and choose which apps you want notifications from.
- Turn off all sounds for the apps you don't want notifications from (so your phone won't make any noise when a notification comes in).
- When you're done, head back over to Settings > Notification and then click on Don't show notifications at all for the app(s) you turned off.
3) Get Rid of Unnecessary Apps
One of the best ways to improve your phone's performance is by cleaning up your device.
You can do this by going into Settings, Apps and then looking for the apps that you don't use or don't work.
You can either delete them or disable them so they don't run in the background. By doing this, you'll reduce the amount of data your phone uses and will be less likely to see a slowdown in performance.
4) Clean Out Your Junk Files
One of the most common reasons your phone might seem slow is because you have a lot of junk files taking up space on your device.
You can use a file manager like ES File Explorer to easily find and delete these files from your phone.
5) Clear Cache and Restart Your Device
Clearing your cache and restarting your device are two of the most effective ways of speeding up your phone.
To clear the cache on an Android device, go to Settings -> Storage -> Cached data. Tap Clear Cached Data and then confirm by tapping OK.
Restarting your device is a quick way of clearing RAM space that may be slowing down performance.
Simply hold down the power button until you see a menu with options - select Power off, Restart or Cancel.
6) Upgrade Operating System and Apps Section
If your phone is running slow, it might be due to an old operating system. There are several ways you can upgrade your OS,
but one of the easiest is by backing up all of your data and then resetting your phone. Be sure to back up all your data before doing this so that you do not lose anything!
7) Enable Developer Options
The first step is to enable Developer Options in Settings.
This will allow you to take screenshots on your phone, adjust animation speeds, and more.
You can do this by going into Settings and tapping the top left menu button three times or by tapping the following:
Build Number seven times. Once you have enabled Developer Options, go back into Settings and tap Developer Options.
