Android has come a long way since the early days of Android 1.0, and it’s now the most popular smartphone operating system in the world by some distance, with more than 1 billion active monthly users .
To meet consumer demand, hundreds of app developers have created countless new apps and features that can be used on an Android phone or tablet.
Here are 10 of the best Android tricks that you might not know about—yet!
1) Unlock your phone with your fingerprint
2) Turn on developer options to get more control over your device.
Go to Settings > About Phone and tap Build Number seven times. Return to Settings and tap Developer Options at the bottom of the list.
Enable USB Debugging and make sure Stay Awake is unchecked, as this can be used for malware attacks.
If you're using a Samsung Galaxy S7, it may take up to two hours after enabling Developer Mode for Developer mode Enabled to appear in the notification bar.
2) Capture screenshots with ease
1) Take a screenshot by pressing the power button and volume down at the same time. If you have a device with an on-screen navigation bar,
it's easier to do this by pressing the power button and volume down buttons at the same time.
2) Copy an address from your phone to your computer or vice versa by long-pressing it.
3) Create shortcuts for actions
- Open any app: Double-tap the Home button and then select the icon from the list.
- Copy text or link: Hold down on text or a link and tap Select. Then, tap Copy.
- Delete an email message: Swipe to the right in your inbox until you see the trash can icon at the bottom of your screen. Tap it to delete a message.
4) Use Quick Reply in any app
I just wanted to share these really cool and helpful android tricks with you.
-Quick Reply: Allows you to reply to any text message without leaving your current app!
-Translate: Translates words from one language to another
-Selfie Flash: For those dark places ;)
-Smart Gestures: Lets you control your phone without touching it!
-Double Tap To Unlock: Double tap the screen and it unlocks the phone for you!

-Disable Notifications On Lock Screen: If you don't want notifications showing up on your lock screen, turn this option on and off in Settings>Display>Lock Screen Notifications>Off
5) Personalize your notifications
In this day and age, it's hard to stay on top of what's going on.
This becomes even more difficult when we all have a never-ending list of notifications from social media and email apps.
Wouldn't it be nice to know when something important happens without getting bombarded with useless information?
Fortunately, there is a way to customize your notification settings for each app in order to get the most important updates without being overwhelmed by irrelevant ones.
6) Send self-destructing messages
Did you know that you can send messages on WhatsApp that will automatically delete after they have been viewed?
This is a great way to have private conversations with someone, but you should note that the person on the other end will not be able to see your message unless they open it in WhatsApp.
If you want to make sure that your message gets read, tap and hold on the blue Send button until a menu pops up and then select Send Read Receipts.
Now this person will be notified when their conversation partner has seen the message.
7) Automate your phone with Tasker
If you want to automate your phone, Tasker is a great app to download. Tasker allows you to set up automated tasks based on the time of day or other events.
For example, it can turn off your WiFi when you leave home, turn on Bluetooth when you start driving, and send an SMS with your location when you're lost.
8) Clean up annoying notifications without unlocking your phone
If you're sick of those annoying notifications but don't want to unlock your phone, try swiping to the right on the notification.
Doing this will turn off that notification without having to open up the app that's bothering you.
Find out when a song was released:
Want to know when a song came out? Try opening it and scrolling down - usually there'll be some sort of release date listed.
Delete multiple photos at once:
If you have multiple photos in one folder, long press any photo and select Delete from the menu.
A pop-up box should appear with all of the other photos in that folder - just select which ones you want to delete as well.
9) Disable bloatware apps easily and quickly
The process of removing bloatware apps can be pretty annoying, but luckily there are some easy ways to get rid of them.
One way is to use a third-party app like App Quarantine.
App Quarantine lets you disable bloatware and other unwanted apps with just one click. You'll never have to worry about accidentally opening an app you don't want again!
10) Keep track of your data usage
Monitoring your data usage is important for two reasons:
1) it can help you to avoid exceeding your monthly plan's data limit, and
2) it can help you to figure out how much data is going to each app.
To monitor your data usage on an app-by-app basis, open the Settings on your phone and tap Data Usage.
This will give you a breakdown of how much data has been used by each app in the last 24 hours.
